Are your kids stuck at home doing #online school? The pandemic has slowed down quite a number of things but your child's learning doesn’t have to be one of them. Here are clever tips to help your child/children bloom in a virtual learning environment!

  1. Setting and sticking to a schedule
In a #virtual learning environment, it is important to set a schedule and stick to it. Schools operate like that for a reason! Schedules create order which is very much needed in any learning environment. When children are aware when it is work time and when they can take a break, they will likely perform better. In contrast, if you call your child to work at random points of the day, this will result in confusion. Another tip is to let your child go outside, get some fresh air and time away from the screen during these breaks. Remember that in a virtual learning environment, health should not be compromised.
  2. Rewarding your child when he/she is deserving
It can be very frustrating to feel as if you’re working nonstop and your hard work is not paying off. Now that your child’s teacher is not actually there, you have even more the responsibility to commend your child when he/she is deserving. Rewarding your child with treats, toys or even privileges, for example after he/she successfully completes a quiz, is a good idea. This will give your child something to look forward to. Motivation is key!
    • Setting aside a space for school and for play
Similar to setting a schedule, a good idea is to set aside a “work space” and “play space” for your children. Though it’s a virtual learning environment, the physical matters too. If you only keep school related material in the work space then the child will have less distractions and be able to focus on the work at hand. During breaks they can head over to the play space (You won’t need to worry about school related material being damaged.) until it’s time for work again.

Some other tips are to try to make virtual #learning fun with games and activities and surprise them with creative lunches. You’re the teacher now so let all creativity flow! These tips are guaranteed to help your kids bloom in a virtual learning environment!
